Egg and sperm donation

These days, an increasing number of women, men, and couples face challenges with conceiving and having a baby. Despite the advances in assisted reproductive technologies, not everyone is able to conceive using their own genetic material, whether eggs or sperm.

In those cases, the only viable option for successful conception, pregnancy, and childbirth may be the use of donor material, otherwise known as eggs or sperm from a donor.

Why we need female donors/egg donors

When it becomes clear that a woman will not be able to use her own genetic material (her own eggs) to conceive a child, the use of donor eggs may be the only hope and option for achieving pregnancy and childbirth.

Egg donation in Latvia

According to Latvian legislation, donation is entirely ANONYMOUS. Donor egg recipients do not receive the donor's picture or any other identifying information. Information is provided exclusively regarding genetic and anthropometric characteristics, including height, weight, hair colour, eye colour, blood type, and Rh factor.
